Clean code, High usability

Good graphical sense, feeling for composition and colors. Sophisticated, clean code. Desire to make current solutions even better. Equally at home behind the PC or presenting to clients. Just as happy building as designing. The user comes first, and my solutions are driven more by results than by the technology.

Photography - I worked on this because i wasn't good at it. It takes me out of my comfort zone and helps me keep a broader creative view.
In the same vein, I've pursued some traditional creative skills like graphic design - in my own time.

Built two years ago when learning PHP. Started with family and friends now has over 300 users from around the world. Traffic sits around 30,000 unique visitors a month. Users include artists and photographers. Currently considering offering a service printing their work on large canvas.

One of my favourite sites done at FRESCO.Good brief, good imagery to work with (some of it my own photography) and a tidy result. Green Globe is an international environmental standards programme for tourism operators.

This is not here because I love the design but because of what it is. I had a hand in developing it beyond its beginnings five years ago. probably one of New Zealand's biggest events and listings website. It's not perfect but 80,000 visits a month generating substantial revenue testifies to some real progress and success.

GHD - World Environment Day

This was a cool project in a place where cool isn't all that common. GHD is an international engineering consultancy and this is their contribution to World Environment Day. It's an invitation to their clients to plant an eTree and for every one planted GHD plants a real one.

Soon to have it's own website and integrate with photopia. Users will be able to doodle and scrawl over the top of their photos and save their drawings to share, replay and print in high resolution. The painting engine and api were created in one full working day.
Think Etch-a-sketch for the 21st Century.
